DAY1
The 3rd National Mediation Competition, 2022, IMS UNISON UNIVERSITY set into motion with its brimming vigor and unveiling the scintillating ambience of the programme. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the guest of honor, Hon’ble Justice U.C. Dhyani, he has served in various judicial positions in the state of Uttarakhand.
The welcome was addressed by Prof. Dr. Ashish Verma, Dean School of Law who expressed his gratitude to the guest of honor. He further enlightened the participants with the overview of the event.
Our Chancellor, Professor Dr. Gurdip Singh Bahri was next invited to the stage for his words of wisdom. He ascertained us with the knowledge of mediation that it is collaborative resolution of a conflict, he also discerned that there are three forms of mediation, viz, Evaluative, Transformative, and Facilitative. Almost as a ritual, his address was full of anecdotes from his personal life experiences which made his address a delight to the audience.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Ravikesh Shrivastava, acknowledged us with his enthusiastic words. He said, ‘Any nation will grow if its citizens are well informed and know their rights’.
The Hon'ble Justice U.C. Dhyani, our chief guest of the event illuminated our minds about counselling and mediation. He put a comparison between counselling and consulting as one way traffic and two way traffic ,respectively. He remembered several freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Dada Bhai Naroji, Barrack Obama, Bill Clinton who were great lawyers and they were the torch bearers of counselling and mediation. He gave a reference of a chemical equation to co relate the role of a mediator as a catalyst between the clients.
Following, a token of love and respect was presented to the Hon'ble chief guest by our Chancellor Professor Dr. Gurdip Singh Bahri.
Educational partner Ledx is an online innovative legal learning platform that aims towards procreating the legal education. Rashmi Shukla, the head academic coordination and strategy emphasized the role of honing legal skills using online platform.
The vote of thanks by Asst. Prof. Harsh Kumar Sandhu of School of Law, with this the inaugural ceremony came to an end.
In the preliminary rounds a total of 16 teams sprang into action with their clients and mediator. Teams from various universities like Symbiosis Law School Pune, HPNLU, UPES Dehradun, Uttaranchal University Dehradun, etc. participated in the event and marked their dignified presence.
Our respected judges kept the teams and their participants on a constant grill with their questions. Teams showed extraordinary determination and promptness as they faced the challenging and crafty problems. After the exuberant first rounds, the judges marked their mark sheets accordingly.
At the climax of today’s event the winning teams were NMC-07, NMC-15, NMC-1, NMC-14, NMC-6, NMC-9, NMC-3 and NMC-10.
Day 2
The zealous day 2 of 3rd National Mediation Competition 2022 conducted by IMS UNISON UNIVERSITY began with the briefing of the judges. The judges invited were Ms. Kumud Mehra, Adv. Abhay Goyal, Adv. Amita Parihar , Adv. Chaitali Jugran and Adv. Ankush Jaiswal Internal Faculty as Judge were Dr. Udai Pratap Singh, Mr. Harsh Kumar and Mr. Ashutosh Kumar. Following the draw of lots for the quarter finals rounds 1 and 2.
The next was the captivating quarter final rounds to be orchestrated among 8 qualified teams. The teams for quarter finals rounds 1 and 2 were TC-01,03,06,07,09,10,14, and 15.
These rounds witnessed a session of intricate questions asked by the judges directed to the clients and mediators. After the effervescent quarter finals, the judges enlisted their respective marking in their score sheets.
The teams qualifying for the semi-final rounds were TC-15,01,09, and 10.
The semi-finals event commenced with its extraordinary spirit and moved in its full swing. Perhaps the qualifying participants and their teams acted as pivot to the event today, firmly moored its way out proving the entirety of the event being cherished and in veneration.
In the rhapsody of today’s event countless arguments, negotiations, reconciliations and settlements were resorted in order to bring a peaceful resolution altogether putting the true essence of mediation.
The session adjourned with loaded sentiments of semi final in a couple of rounds. The day 2 event swathed by announcing the qualifying teams for final rounds. Team codes NMC-10 and NMC-01 qualified for the final rounds.
Day 3
The 3rd national mediation competition ,2022 has reached to its climax. The conclusion is as orchestrated as the beginning of this splendid event.
The day 3 began with the briefing of judges with today’s problem and the itinerary for the upcoming events. The judges invited for the final rounds were Dr. Shikha Dimri and Adv. Ashish Chakarvarty. In succession to it were the draw of lots for the qualified teams to present in the final rounds.
The event is in its full fruition and any moment can be the moment of godly luck and ventured success to the qualified teams. The team codes NMC-01 and NMC-10 with their dapper aura and zealous attitude moved in consonance to achieve the pedestal of being the only star shining today.
The constant hurdling in between the teams is an evidentiary of how the last round turned out to be!
Adding further to this graceful event was the valedictory ceremony in which various acknowledged dignitaries presided to felicitate the winning teams and the participants.

“Only those who risk going too far, can possibly find out how far they can go”, with these promising words the valedictory ceremony of 3rd National Mediation Competition, was lead. The chief guest of the event professor G.N. Sinha was welcomed along with respected , Vice Chancellor retired brigadier Dr. M Srinivasan, pro vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ravikesh Srivastava, Faculty members and the participants by the Dean School of Law, Dr. Ashish Verma.
To grace the convivial event, Vice Chancellor Dr. M Srinivasan, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Ravikesh Srivastava and Dean, School of Law Dr Ashish Verma were called upon the stage to honour the chief guest with a bouquet as a token of respect. The Dean, School of Law Dr Ashish Verma was invited upon stage to embrace the participants with his words.
The Vice Chancellor retired brigadier Dr M Srinivasan was invited on stage to address the gathering.
The Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ravikesh Srivastava was called upon on stage to address the gathering.
The chief guest Professor G.N Sinha was sought to acquaint the event with his words of wisdom.
The Co conveners of the event were invited upon the stage to present the brief of report of the event. A pictorial videography of the event was depicted alongside the vote of thanks.
The most anticipated moment , the result was announced by conveners Palak Srivastava and Arunika pal.
