Campus life after lockdown at the School of Mass Communication

Happy faces were seen at the campus again when students of School of Mass Communication rejoined classes after a long period of lockdown. They are now able to get hands-on training on the latest equipment and use it to shoot outdoor videos, perfectly capturing the enjoyment of campus life.

Further, to assess the outcome-based learning of students, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava and Dr. Amit Adlakha, Director (IQAC), paid a visit to the students of School of Mass Communication along with Associate Dean - SOMC, Dr. Sushi Rai on February 10. They had a lively interaction with students during the ongoing television practical. Discussing the trends and techniques of Ad-shoot and Documentary-filming, Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava, along with Dr. Amit Adlakha spoke about the importance of media persons and their role in acting as a watchdog in society. Urging the students to make full use of the recently upgraded Television & Photography Labs, Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava spoke about the latest equipment procured by the university for a seamless practical learning experience.

The fresher students also joined the address as they will be the newest beneficiaries of the efforts undertaken by the university to create a state-of-the-art media-labs at SOMC and the vision to make it a Centre of Excellence in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava also discussed the importance of skill-based learning imparted at SOMC.

The interaction culminated with a short pep talk and words of encouragement by the Pro Vice-Chancellor. Students were urged to work hard and learn as much as possible with the equipment and software present and give their best in every assignment they undertook. He then wished them luck in all their future endeavors.  

The students were happy to rejoin the university and are actively taking part in all curricular and co-curricular activities!
