In the series of faculty research seminars, the School of Law organized an internal faculty research seminar on 18th May 2023 on the topic “Role of CSR for Achieving Climate Justice”. The Seminar enabled the faculty members to understand how the Corporate Social Responsibility mandate of corporate law can be helpful in achieving climate justice. The research topic was presented by Ms. Punam Kumari Bhagat, Assistant Professor (SOL). She explained in detail the statutory provisions of CSR, meaning climate change and climate justice as well as its impact on human beings, especially the people living in India. She also talked about the international commitments towards eradicating the burning issue of global warming and presented the current scenario of CRS laws in other developed countries. She concluded her topic by showing remarkable work done by the corporate sector for improving the ecosystem and emphasizing that much more is also required to be done in this direction in order to achieve the target of the Paris Agreement. Lastly, some valuable suggestions were also put forward by the other faculty members.
