In the series of Internal Faculty Seminars, on 18 February 2023, the School of Law organized a seminar on the topic “Climate Justice and Social Justice: Intertwined and Untangled.”. The topic was presented by Dr. Vivek Shukla, Assistant Professor, School of Law. This seminar enabled the faculties to understand both the concept and demand of climate and social justice. He explained the importance and need for social and climate justice by differentiating between climate justice and injustice. He focused on various issues and complexities associated with it. Climate policies shall be made in such a way that thwarts social justice by the minimising difference between rich and poor, white, and black.
Finally, he summed up his presentation with the conclusion that, due to poor countries, third-world countries are facing more problems. It is creating a widening gap between poor and rich, developed and developing countries. The solution to this is that policies shall be made by taking and considering both rich and poor countries.
The seminar ended on a high note with question- answer session.
