The School of Mass Communication (SOMC) organized an internal faculty seminar on the topic 'Cybercrime in Society: Problems and Prevention', on February 27. The resource person for the seminar was Ms. Sakshi Tiwari, Assistant Professor, SOMC.Ms. Sakshi Tiwari discussed the ongoing problems of cybercrime in society. In her presentation, she quoted the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data which highlighted the growing rate of cybercrime cases in India. She said that children and women have become a soft target for criminals in cyberspace and proactive steps had to be taken to tackle this rising problem. She suggested that there is a growing need of educating citizens about Cyber Laws that can protect them against cybercrime. The seminar then concluded with an interactive question and answer session. Overall, it was an informative session for all faculties of SOMC.
