Day 1
The School of Management, IMS Unison University organized the inaugural ceremony of Orientation Programme to welcome the new batch of MBA on August 17th, 2022. The university is unparalleled with its flagship MBA program in the region since its inception and phenomenally contributes towards continued academic enrichment and personality embellishment of its students that enables them to scale significant milestones in their careers and makes them societally responsible citizens.
The beginning of the ceremony was marked with an electrifying welcome address by Prof. Amit Adlakha, Dean-School of Management followed by a brief about the orientation program by Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava, Pro-Vice Chancellor, IUU.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony Prof. Gurdip Singh, Honorable Chancellor, IMS Unison University extended a heartwarming welcome to all students of the new MBA batch (2022-24). Prof. Singh shared his words of wisdom while highlighting on the relevance of participative and interactive learning in today’s environment. He further reiterated on how practical-based learning can equip students with the proficient knowledge and sharpen their skillset enabling them to sustain and flourish in the competitively challenging environment.
The ceremony was adorned with the enlightening presence of our Guest-of-Honor, Ms. Divya Rawat, popularly known as Mushroom Lady of Uttarakhand. She narrated the inspiring story of her frivolous journey about her entrepreneurial initiatives that she had started with in 2013 through Mushroom Farming to create employment and economic well-being for people in the state. With her innovative and research-oriented mindset, she travelled to various foreign destinations to acquire learning in different technologies and indigenously developed patented technology in growing specific varieties of mushroom. She was also felicitated with Nari Shakti Samman by the then President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee in 2017. She was also honored with Sanjivini Rattan award for her Agri-Entrepreneurial ventures by the state government of Uttarakhand and is presently, the Brand Ambassador of the state.
The event was a grand success and deeply enjoyed by the students.
DAY-2
The second day of MBA Orientation Programme began with the first informative session by Prof. Swati Bisht, Dean-Career Services who apprised students about the relevance and processes pertaining to the Training and Placement at IUU. She also highlighted on the Pre-placement Training exquisitely designed for final year students and ended her session with a few words of motivation for the new MBA students.
The second session was taken by Prof. Amit Adlakha, Dean-School of Management, who shared his valuable insights on being self-motivated and developing professional competencies for accomplishing significant milestones in one’s life. The students enjoyed his session.
The third session was taken by Dr. Himanshu Mahobia, Program Coordinator (MBA) elaborated on the entire curricula of our varsity’s Master of Business Administration program and informed them about the credit system and associated modus operandi. He wholeheartedly welcomes students for clarifications regarding any component of the program structure which was acknowledged by students.
A special guest lecture was organized virtually by Prof. Narinder Singh Pal, Professor at Cambrian College, Ontario, Canada delivered a very insightful lecture on the topic Data Analytics: The Engine of Industry 4.0 with latest inputs on the Data Management technology to keep the students abreast with the recent/newest trends. He concluded his learning-oriented session with question-answer round.
The session was admired by students.
The day concluded with a comprehensive session by Dr. Garima Saxena, University Coordinator (Social Responsibility and Community Engagement Cell) on Social Outreach. She emphasized on the cruciality of establishing and running the cell to contribute through social entrepreneurship initiatives and instilling in her students, the spirit of becoming social change makers.
DAY-3
The last day of the Orientation Program started with a wonderful session by Prof. Madhu Prabhakaran, Dean-School of Liberal Arts on the ‘Authentic Studentship’ that made students realise the relevance of introspection for a positive transformation.
This was followed by a special session taken by Prof. Vinay Rana, Dean-School of Hospitality Management and Dean Student Affairs on the topic Professional Etiquettes and Table Manners. In this, Prof. Rana elaborated on the phrase ‘Manners maketh man”. He also explained the difference on the interchangeable terms Manner and Etiquette with relatable videos to make the presentation more enticing and informative.
The third session was taken by Dr. Pankaj Misra, Assistant Dean-IQAC on the Case Analysis, a need for a management student to enhance his/her conceptual learning and decision-making styles.
The epicenter of third day was the Panel Discussion on Latest on MBA program and its importance in shaping and preparing students for the VUCA market. Senior professors were invited to adorn the event by sharing their valuable insights.
The third day ended with a bunch of cultural performance by the senior students.
