As part of bakery training module, the culinary specialization batch from BHM program, prepared the Muffins and Cupcakes.
The word Muffin is first found in print in 1703, spelled moofin; it is of uncertain origin but possibly derived from the Low German Muffen, the plural of Muffe meaning a small cake, or possibly with some connection to the Old French moufflet meaning soft, as said of bread.
A cupcake is a small cake designed to serve one person, which may be baked in a small thin paper or aluminium cup. As with larger cakes, frosting and other cake decorations such as fruit and candy may be applied.
Muffins and Cupcake differ from each other. Cupcake recipes generally have more sugar and fat (butter, oil, or dairy) than muffins and may include ingredients like whipped eggs and, cupcakes essentially always include frosting. Muffins, on the other hand, are typically mixed with the muffin method no matter their flavours.
Pineapple-Walnut Muffin, Choco Chip Muffin and Velvet Cupcakes were prepared in the practical session..
