Today's morning session commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Nikunj Singh Yadav, Convener, Orientation Programme committee, 2021 at School of Law, IMS Unison University. Thereafter, Ms. Shalini Saxena, Assistant Professor, SOL, Program coordinator briefed the students about both BA LLB(H) & BBA LLB(H) Programmes. Mr. Harsh Kumar, Assistant Professor, SOL provided LL.M students with an overview of the LL.M Programme, its specializations and evaluation process. The session continued with the information imparted by the Dean, SOL, Dr. R.N. Sharma, regarding the overall curriculum structure of all the programmes running in the SOL.
The second half of the session was moderated by Ms. Garima Trivedi, Co-convenor of Orientation Programme committee. Our resource person Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Pasricha addressed the students on the topic Independence or In dependence. He stressed upon the fact that effective learning is essential for legal education and meditation is an effective tool for relationship building with family, friends, and teachers. He also made the student exercise a brain guided exercise i.e “Breathe in & breathe out” for 5 times.
The next lecture was delivered by our learned resource person Dr. Charu Mathur, who has a vast litigation experience as an Advocade on Record, SC of India, and spoke on the topic Career Prospects in Judicial Services after Legal Education. She made the student aware about the role of Public Service Commission. She enlightened the students in detail about the examination pattern of judicial services to acquaint them with what to expect while preparing for the same. She stressed upon the importance of reading newspaper while preparing for judiciary. Last but not the least she emphasized on the value of self-study and gave the students the following mantra “self-study is the key to crack judicial competitive exams”.
